Want to learn how to be musically spontaneous in improvisational theatre? In this special workshop by the Co-Directors of Les Musicables, Pamy & Joel will share useful tips on how to play improvised stories through song! They will guide you through fun exercises to practice useful skills for musical extemporization, including:

– Basic voice work, such as projection and pitching
– Transitions between scenes and song
– Emotional & character motivations to fuel songs in improvised musicals
– Key elements of how to improvise a simple song

ABOUT THE TRAINERS
Pamy Tan & Joel Dunstan Chua are the Co-Directors of The Improv Company‘s resident Performing House Team Les Musicables. This improv troupe specialises in improvising musical plays through spontaneously created songs and dances. Under their leadership, Les Musicables has performed in a wide spectrum of musical styles, from classical Broadway to Rock Ballads and everything in-between! On top of their quarterly independent productions, the troupe has also performed at regional festivals (Singapore Improv Festival 2018; Manila Improv Festival 2019).

Pamy and Joel are also members of ASAP Improv, another locally well-loved improv troupe that parodies soap operas. ASAP has gone from strength to strength performing hilariously dramatic sets at Singapore’s premium arts venues, including the Esplanade and Aliwal Arts Centre.
