Singapore Improv Calendar is maintained by Liau Yun Qing, known in the community as YQ — improv performer, organiser, and the person the Singapore improv community calls when they want to know what's on, what happened, or who to ask.

YQ has been part of Singapore's improv scene since 2015 — her first public performance was pushed back a week after the passing of Lee Kuan Yew. She has been tracking it obsessively ever since (improv shows, not death of leaders).

YQ built this calendar because she was watching a lot of shows and thought other people deserved to know they were happening. Over a decade later it remains the most complete record of improv shows and events in Singapore.

Why this calendar exists
Singapore has a surprisingly rich improv comedy scene — shows, workshops, and events happening across the island every week. The problem was that unless you already knew where to look, you'd miss them.

YQ started this calendar to fix that. One place, all the shows and events. It's been running since 2017 and it's not stopping.

About YQ

YQ's main improv teams are musical improv team Les Musicables and Chinese improv team Mala Improv. She co-runs improvised presentation show PPTK.TV (PowerPoint Karaoke) and the quarterly New Game Jam.

She is grateful to guest perform in many improv shows.
